A Dry Transformer Core transfers magnetic flux in dry-type (cast-resin or ventilated) transformers without oil immersion. Our transformer core options include stacked silicon-steel laminations for standard applications and amorphous-alloy cores for ultra-low no-load losses. Dry cores are ideal where fire safety, low environmental risk and low maintenance are priorities.

Product Details

Key features & benefits Oil-free, fire-safe design — eliminates oil leak and combustion hazards common to liquid-filled units, making dry cores preferred for indoor and sensitive locations. Amorphous alloy option for maximum energy savings — amorphous cores can cut no-load (core) losses dramatically versus conventional silicon steel, improving lifetime operating cost. Excellent thermal performance — optimized lamination stacking and insulation systems for effective heat dissipation in ventilated or encapsulated (cast-resin) constructions. Customizable sizes & configurations — available for low- and medium-voltage distribution, with flexible kVA ratings and division for single- and three-phase systems. Reduced partial discharge & low noise — engineered to meet demanding installation environments.

Dry transformer iron cores are widely used in:

Commercial buildings, data centers, hospitals and medical centers, factories and continuous-process plants, shopping malls, educational campuses, and indoor substations — anywhere safety, low maintenance and clean operation matter.

Materials & manufacturing

  • ·  Silicon-steel laminations — precision-stamped, oriented or non-oriented, with tight stacking tolerances to minimize eddy losses.

  • ·  Amorphous alloy cores — cold-rolled ribbon of amorphous metal for very low hysteresis and core losses; recommended where energy efficiency and payback are priorities. Typical no-load loss reductions are substantial vs. silicon steel.

  • ·  VPI / cast-resin insulation options — vacuum pressure impregnation and cast resin encapsulation provide moisture resistance and excellent electrical insulation for humid or polluted environments.

Quality Assurance

Built and tested to major international standards (IEC, ANSI/IEEE) with routine factory tests (winding resistance, ratio, insulation, impedance, induced over-voltage and temperature rise). Medium-voltage dry designs are available up to high system voltages per customer specification.
